What is vishing?
Voice phishing, or "vishing", is when a criminal calls you pretending to be from bloxley, your bank, the police, or a tech company. The call is designed to create panic and trick you into taking a high-risk action while you're alarmed.
They may claim your account is being drained, your device has a virus, or that your money needs to be moved to a "safe account". None of this is true.
Red flags to watch for
- they ask you to move funds to a "safe account" — this is always a scam. bloxley will never ask you to do this
- they ask you to read back a one-time verification code — we will never ask for this over the phone
- they ask you to download software so they can "help" remotely — never do this
- they tell you not to contact bloxley or to lie about the reason for a transfer
- the call feels urgent, pressured, or threatening
What to do
- hang up immediately if anything feels wrong
- never share your passcode, verification codes, or account details on a call
- never download software at a caller's request
- wait at least 10 minutes before calling anyone back, or use a different phone — scammers can keep landline connections open
- contact our support team via the in-app chat to verify whether the call was genuine
